Hello Fabulous Friends,
I wanted to take some time and show you one of my favorite sites that I have wanted to see since I was in elementary school. St. Paul’s Cathedral, along with Westminster Abbey, is one of the historical sites that I have been dying to see. I have a deep appreciation for the architecture of distant eras and for the way they have stood the test of time.
Going to St. Paul’s was even more than what I expected! Especially when I went underground to the Crypt, which the Gothic side English Major student in me loved!
The outside is simply stunning and inspiring. Not to mention massive! And what is most amazing is the fact that when you go inside it looks bigger than you were expecting! In every inch of St. Paul’s there is historical information. From modern video art pieces to flags dating back for far that the majority of the fabrics have faded away. For me the gravitas of St. Paul’s is not only from the size of the columns and the overall structure, but the art work from the ceiling to the floor. It pulls you in and you can’t help but be moved from one area to the next because it all tells one moving story.
But enough of my blubbering, please enjoy these pictures that I took on the sly because photography is banned. Please let me know if any of you fabulous people have been and what your experience was!
