Mysterious. Sexy. Seductive. Glamorous.

These are words that pop into my mind when I would read through my mothers W, Vouge and InStyle subscriptions and see pictures of Sophia Loren, Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O when they would talk about style icons. I would pour over excruciatingly glamorous pictures of them in the magazines walking in New York or filming a scene wearing pair after pair of designer sunglasses wishing that I could and would be that fabulous one day. They were my first introduction to the idea that eye wear could be looked at as a sexy accessory.

When I got new eye glasses in 2013 I saw that on the shelves they had sunglasses…then I wondered if I could get prescription sunnies. Being that I was not going to get contacts I figured it was worth the inquiry. The lovely woman in the superbly chic silk scarf at the counter said yes. The next time I went back I purchased a pair of purple Tom Ford Malin sunglasses.

These are cat eye frames which are classic and can go with any outfit or occasion. I got them in dark purple that is subtle yet stylish. At first I had to get used to the weight of the glasses with the lenses, but once I did I never wanted to take them off! I walked out of the store and envisioned myself as Jackie O blocking the paparazzi from taking my picture with my new sunglasses. I am looking forward to buying my next pair! Tell me about your favorite sunglasses in the comments below!

P.S.: You can get a pair in black on Overstock.com.
